The procedure and its beneficiaries

In order to strengthen, in the Aquitaine region, the provision of services, technologies and facilities aimed at measuring, preventing, limiting and remedying environmental damage, the regional Council of the Aquitaine region, OSEO Aquitaine, the DRIRE Aquitaine and the Agence de l'eau Adour-Garonne, launch, every year, in collaboration with INNOVALIS Aquitaine and with the support of the FEDER fund:

A call for projects that aims at supporting innovative approaches, whether they are individual or collective, by regional companies*:

  • who wish to achieve an eco-innovative development,
  • who diversify themselves by creating new eco-activities,
  • who set up eco-designed products,
  • who implement innovative ecotechnologies.

* companies or institutions located in the Aquitaine region and created before 01/01/2008


The priority areas of eco-innovation in Aquitaine

Energy :
Energy efficiency (innovative products, systems and processes)
Production of renewable energies

Sustainable construction and development :
Environmental efficiency of buildings (materials, systems, processes, etc.)
Improvements and conservation of resources

Prevention of pollution and nuisances :
Eco-design of products (from design to eco-label)
Substitution of fossil products or hazardous substances in materials (including biomaterials)
Sustainable methods of organization or production (including� ecofunctionality and industrial ecology)

Management of waste and of polluting emissions :
Recovering and recycling
In situ processing and "zero-discharge"
Innovative processes of storage and treatment (including CO2 use)

Tools for measurements, environmental evaluations or decision support :

Intelligent systems for detection, measurements and monitoring, applied to the environment
Development of multicriteria tools for decision support (LCV, etc.)
Mutual use of demonstrators and pilot operations (collective actions)
Evaluation of innovative eco-technologies

Special attention is paid to projects involving several companies and / or involving a research laboratory or a technical center

To answer the call for projects 2009

Project holders can download the application files on this Website, under the heading "Submit your application".

You can also download them on the regional Council of Aquitaine's Website (http://les-aides.aquitaine.fr/), or on one of its partners' site.

The applications will be submitted at the latest on January 6, 2009, directly on this Website, under the heading "Submit your application".

For the application to be taken into account, the application form (pdf file generated when submitting your on-line application) will be dated, signed and sent by mail to:

Timetable for projects selection 2009

The projects-selection committee, including the regional Council, the ADEME, OSEO, the Agence de l'Eau Adour-Garonne and the DRIRE with the participation of the INNOVALIS Aquitaine agency, will take note, in all confidentiality, of files as of the date of submission.

The committee will meet late January to judge applications, which will be classify, as appropriate :

  • for examination for financial support by one of the partners,
  • for an additional interview in the presence of the members of the committee, as part of a series of auditions, which will be scheduled in February 2009,
  • or for support from INNOVALIS Aquitaine, to complete the project (search for potential partners, financial plan) and file a new application.

The project initiators will be notified in early March of the outcome of their application.
For the projects selected either directly or as a result of the additional interviews, further examination will begin without delay (pending reception of additional administrative papers).

The financial support of the winning projects will take the form of a subsidy or refundable advance, according to their status and the nature of the costs involved.
